'97 Taurus GL 140K miles

My passenger side power windows have worked on and off, and now they are off. Both the front and rear passenger side will not work - not from individual control panels or the driver master. Interestingly, at night, with the lights on, when you press the window buttons, either at each control panel, or at the master, you see my lights dim ever so slightly (I believe this is normal behavior if there were working). This may give a hint as to what is working, or what is not.

Looking at the wiring diagrams I have not idea where to start, except look at the driver master since everything flows through there. The driver main switch was replaced about 5-6 years ago, but who knows it may be bad again.

Otherwise I'm stumped on where to start looking. Your thoughts please.

As an update both windows started working this morning for no apparent reason.

I am likewise tempted to think master switch, however, after looking at the wiring diagram there doesn't seem to be any way a failure there would allow the a load on the electrical system. As unlikely as it seems now I'm thinking two bad window motors (i.e., bad spots on the motors).

Maybe I'm overlooking something on the diagrams, and someone can correct me here.

Further update....

Yesterday both my back windows stopped working, and then just this moring both are working again. The only commonality to this seems to be the master switch.

Sounds like Johnny Mullet was right! Good call!

Anyone know where to find this switch other than the dealer. I cringe at the thought of going there.
