Question Pcv

I cannot find PCV on 3.0L 24 valve engine. Can anyone tell where to look or have picture from book?

Re: Pcv

I guess I have to do my own leggwork here. I will post this for anyone else with the same problem. I looked on Autozone troubleshooting website and found this discription; Component Locations - PCV Valve

On your 1996 Mercury Sable, the Component Locations - PCV Valve is:

Under hood, center, upper engine area, front driver side of engine, mounted in intake manifold

I then looked and looked and finally took the air filter cover off right up to the throttle body. Look just under the throttle body and there it is. The rubber hoses for these components were in poor shape too so check all hoses for mushiness, cracks, or collapses. Hope this helps others. By the way car was consuming oil which I believe is due to bad PCV valve.

Re: Pcv

I have a 93 SHO 3.0 DOHC, it has no PVC and a 90 4.0 Areostar with no PVC. The CEL was on on the Areostar, and when I ran the codes it came up with a PVC code. So with some of these engines, some on the code readers and the books can be wrong.

Re: Pcv

Thank for the reply. I was starting to think there was none but searched really hard and found the valve sandwiched between two hoses right under the throttle body as I wrote in a frustrated reply to my own thread and in another seperate thread to possibly help others with this problem. New cars are a hastle to work on.....
