2003 Taurus pcv hose is coming loose at the where elbow meets the grommet. A previous owner had jammed some rubber in grommet to keep it in. Do I pull the grommet off and replace? Is the pcv valve in the valve cover? Should I just try to reinforce the connection with something?

Do you mean the one that holds the PCV in the valve cover? If so, you can get a new one to replace it.

The diagrams at Fordparts.com might help. The PCV valve is part of the crankcase ventilation system & those diagrams are in the Emission Control category. It might be a good idea to replace all of the rubber parts, as well as the PCV valve.
