Re: Problem With 96 Taurus Stalling
Ok other possibilites. We know that the engine dies when there is a load on it. ie the ac.
There could be issues as far as the tune, injectors being dirty, IAC messed up. There are countless issues that it could be. With no codes (which seems odd) it can be just about anything and the hunting begins with what it could be. Heck it could be a combo of 2 or more.
You can do some checks.....
Examine all vacuum lines
Check the in-tank pump and screen
Check all power connectors for corrosion(battery terminals, leads, wires to the alt - etc.
Check the general condition of wiring harnesses especially if you are in a salt heavy state.
Check the MAS for damage or dirt build up.
Check your plugs and wires for any damage.
Fuel pressure is it ok?
Condition of the o2 sensors?
Many things to now shoot at in the dark. Each one of these can cause issues in of themselves and even combined they can cause the issues you see. I am assuming ANY load on the engine isgoing to cause it to stall out.
I know this sounds like I am hunting and pecking here and frankly that is what is going on since I and others that I have talked to dont know the conditions of the items in your car and wont be able to tell without looking ourselves. With the many questions we can atleast try to narrow down things.
