I am wanting to buy a '94 Taurus SHO at a local car dealer. The Check Engine light comes on, transmission acts as if it doesn't want to disengage. (i.e. push on gas, let off, push again and it delays and jerks), there is evidence that the sunroof motor doesn't work (switch wires were cut), the roof panel hangs down, and oil is cooking on bottom of engine. it seems to be burning from the exhaust because it doesn't do it until it is hot. I realize you can't really tell what the problem with the check engine is, but is it going to be expensive to fix all of these problems? btw it is automatic.

If all these things are wrong, you can bet there is more trouble. Ask the dealer to evaluate the car with a price to fix all or have an independant mechanic look it over. Unless the price is really cheap, let this one go!
