Problems galore? or Easy fix?
Hello all,
Please forgive this post, I couldn't find the answer I was looking for in the past post.
When it started:
I have a 1999 Taurus, I've been having problems with. It started, when my car started running hot, I pulled it over, it died. Crank it up again, (almost flooding it to get it started), tried to put it in gear, died again. (It didn't run completely hot), got it to move in gear, but was rattling in the engine area...
Update to problems:
Took it to local repair shop, got a code for "Cam Position sensor" (I hear this is common), got an estimate of $193 total. My question is, will getting this repaired put it in running condition? It drives, but only a little while then start rattling, and loses pull, (like it's in neutral), then will die, after resting for 5 mins. it's good to go for another 5 miles or so. And recently, speedometer has stopped working.
Am I in to deep? or will this Sensor problem get everything in order?
Again sorry, not very mechanically inclined (Paramedic...Culinary student)...
Thanks in advance,
~Casey~
