I entered a post about this last weekend but I can't find it. Maybe I have 2 logins and early onset Alzheimer's?

In one of the replies to my post, (the post I cant find) someone suggested that I would need to remove the subframe to lower the engine for access to the front of the compressor.

I've been looking at the compressor and it looks like I could remove the mounting bolts, support the unit and be able to tilt and/or move the compressor back without needing to discharge the refrigerant.

Does anyone have experience with this approach or thoughts on the probability of success with this approach?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I haven't had the need to do anything to my A/C compressor...yet.... however I'd leave it to a good shop. Playing around with refrigerant isn't to be taken lightly. I know where you're coming from though - trying to save costs.

Have you sprayed the clutch with oil? This worked on my older dodge as the clutch was VERY rusted due to offroading and the like. It's by no means a proper fix, however if money is an issue it should allow you to use the A/C until you can take it in.
