replace ignition coil pack
After losing my only locatable key I had to have the igntion "reset" to get a new key. Coincidentally that evening after starting my car the check engine light came on and my car was hesitating and sputtering. I called the dealer back the same day and they had me bring the car back in. I was told that the ignition coil pack needed to be replaced along with the spark plugs.
I'm suspicious since the car ran fine until I had to have it "reset" to get a replacement key. Does this sound valid or is it possible that the ignition coil pack was disrupted during "resetting"?
This is a 2001 Ford Taurus SES.
