Hey! I'm new to this site. I was wondering how you would go about replacing the factory stereo in a 1999 Ford Taurus SE. I've heard you have to buy a new panel cover for the Climate controls. Where would I get one and how hard would it be to install new speakers??

You can get an audio installation kit at any car stereo store or maybe some parts stores that have all the instructions you need. You will also need a wirung kit so you don't have to cut factory plugs.

if you have automatic climate control you're out of luck

if you have the dials you can get a face plate at www.crutchfield.com

replacing the speakers is fairly easy.

You'll need a pair of Ford din tools ( U shaped pieces of metal) to remove your stereo, available most anywhere, walmart, auto part stores, etc.

or you can just use a couple thick paper clips
