I have a 2003 sel with the 24v v6. it starts and runs perfect but when I come to a stop it seems like it wants to stall out but never dies. I will give it some gas and it runs perfect until the next stop. What can I look for to repair this? Does it sound like a vacuum leak???

Hello and good day:

Several things...1. Did you get a CEL (check engine light) yet?...2. Clean Your Throttle Body, and the IAC (idle arm control valve)...3 Check all of your Vac lines, for breaks, tears, or not connected.

No CEL yet. I will clean and hen check for leaks. Thanks

After all was said and done I changed the fuel filter, cleaned everything, checked for leaks and no improvement. Finally I took it to a shop and had it hooked up to a tester and it came back with misfire reads on 3 of six cylinders. I changed the plug wires, which were original, and presto change-o, no more misfire. Kind of a crappy design that you have to take off the intake manifold to get to the rear plugs, and yes I changed those when I was back there.

A note, the intake doesn't have to come off to do the rear plugs. Just remove the R. cowl screen, the plastic panel it sits on and then you can reach around the back of the engine and unbolt the coil and just set it aside, then there is easy access to the plugs and wires. Glad you got it running good.
