SHO Timing Belt Tensioner

I have a1995 SHO with the 3.2 engine. It developed a wrapping noise that turns out to be the tensioner lever (the one that the pulley is mounted to) is pushing the piston in the tensioner housing (the one mounted to the engine block) so deep that the lever is hitting the tensioner housing. I can't find another tensioner housing assembly in any parts store. I would like to fix the tensioner that I have but I don't fully understand how this is suppose to work. Can it be fixed? What are my options?

Re: SHO Timing Belt Tensioner

I've tried many major parts stores, online stores, and I even tried Ford. Ford found the listing in their inventory and even a price but they said they no longer stock this part because the tensioner is obsolete. The only place I haven't checked yet and that's my next move is used parts. I still would like to know how this works to decide if I can attempt to fix the one I have, so if anyone knows how it works please let me know.
Thanks for the suggestion.
