Steering shudder/Vibration when turning - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hello All,

2000 Ford Tarus FFV 117k miles

I recently replaced the rack and pinion my self which took a whole week to do

but now I have a new issue that was never there before.

When turning, randomly I hear a Moaning sound and I can feel the steering wheel shudder/vibrate. Sometimes it happens when I turn slightly and sometimes when I am turned and I am straightning up. It is just random, some times it lasts for 1 second to sometimes 2-3 seconds.

Anyone have any idea on what may be causing this?

Did you replace the Rack with new one?? Or did you buy a Junk Yard Rack???
