Hi,

I have a spring compressor for strut replacement.

Is it normal that i have to compress the spring all the way to replace strut?
The coils are almost touching.

I take my struts off with the spring attached. Lower the subframe on the side you are working on. This allows enough space to get the strut out of the knuckle. I then take the strut and spring to someone with the proper tools to change them out.
