Can someone please help me out. I have a 94 SHO, the problem is this....It starts up no problem, but if it is put into gear and gas pedal is applied it spits and sputters then dies. Also if it is left to idle, once warm, it spits and sputters then dies. I'm lost and if anyone has had the same thing happen or knows the fix, PLEASE, let me know.

Check you IAC and see if it is dirty or not working. Could also be a vacuum leak some where. Look for unhooked vacuum lines is a good start.

I don't know about your Taurus but I was stumped with my Cougar. Tried everything to get the thing to run.

The problem was found by a repair shop. Plugged catalytic converters.

Hey check your Idle Control Valve (Iac) on the very top middle of your intake manifold. you can buy one from Auto Parts Warehouse | Discount Auto Parts Online - Get Free Shipping - Auto Accessories - AutoParts - Performance Parts - Car Parts - AutoPartsWarehouse for cheap. also check the throttle body and make sure its not clogged
