1992 Ford Taurus LE. It idles ok for a while then starts to surge with the idle going up and down. Will run fine when you put into gear. Idles perfect at stoplights and stop signs. But if you put into park it will idle for a few seconds and then starts the surging. Any ideas. Thanks.

Did it start doing that suddenly? I'd say to start with cleaning the IAC with carb cleaner and also the MAF with MAF cleaner.

Does Napa carry MAF cleaner? I phoned the guy here (Canadians!) and he didn't know it existed. Any brand name that you've had success with? I want to clean the one in my '99 SE as it passed the 205,000km mark the other day. thanks

You guys shitten me ? C.R.C. is carcinogenic. BANNED in canada. It was widely used before they got WD40 perfected. Probably killed my father. That was all the railway used
back then. They didn't have WD40. I'd be very carefull of what you spare where you
spray. There is a sticker under my air tube at the MAF sensor. You have to remove the tube to see it. It says " DO NOT SPRAY CLEANERS. IT WILL REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE COATING ON THE AIR BUTTERFLY ". This is just what i find. Yours may be different. To bad CRC is banned. That stuff will EAT through rust and medel that WD40 won't even touch. It even eats plastic. I have 1 can left and gaurd it with my life.

Chip, you might be talking about another CRC product. The CRC MAF cleaner won't harm plastics or the coating. Now CRC makes other products such as carb or brake cleaners, belt dressing, spray lubricants, they make lots of different products.

I actually have one can left from a case. I peeled away a chinese label and low and behold there was CRC. That stuff beats WD40 hands down everytime. Don't know who is trying to do in who. Was it packaged to go to them are was it to be sent to us ? If you read the english part hidden under the chinese label it says " known to cause cancer in
California testing ". Or something to that effect. Is there anything out there that doesn't
cause cancer ?
