System Lean
I have a 1998 Taurus SE (3.0L V6 DOHC), and recently had a check engine light come on and it was diagnosed as "system too lean". I took it to my Ford Dealer and they ran their diagnostic on it (because I tried everything from buying a new fuel cap, to running seafoam through the system, ie all the small things), and they said my intake manifold gaskets were leaking. So yesterday I spent a couple hours trying to replace the gaskets. My question is this....How do you remove the upper intake manifold completely? I tried and tried and could never fully remove it. I was able to lift it up enough to replace the two top gaskets, but after about 20 miles of driving, the light popped back on and guess what? System too lean. Obviously this means I need to replace the lower intake gaskets, but how do I get to them? What did I miss when trying to remove only the upper intake?
Thanks guys
