Engine runs well. Tansmission fluid has good level. No drive forward when Shift to D position with pressing accelerator pedal deep. Transmission was gone? Need suggestions. thanks.

Slip shift to Reverse, it can move backward while did not hit the accelerator pedal. The car just parked off street and vertical to the street. Gentlemen helped me push it back...so not sure if it has Reverse. When bought the car three years ago, the former owner told me he just changed the transimission fluid.

Sounds like you're not getting any oil flow at all, otherwise at least one of the gears will work... usually. If there's a level, I'd be looking at the torque converter.

Yes, I think there is no oil flow. This morning found that the transmission fluid level does not have obvious change with engine off and on.Also found there is no drive reverse either.
I checked shift cable and selector with my wife's help. She was slipping shift, and I opened the hood and watched the movement of selctor rod. They look good.

Are there some sensors or belt in transmission system that can get broken and lead to this problem?

If you lost power to the transmission solenoids, they wouldn't allow it to shift.Also, if you have access to a scanner capable of reading transmission codes, it can help.

If the solenoids weren't working, you'd have reverse and second gear limp in. No drive or reverse indicates either a torque converter issue, front pump issue, or a broken/stripped pump shaft.

Did four things this morning:
1 check the fuses of trans range sensor (TRS) and trans shift solenoid. They are good;
2 disconnect the TRS electrical connector with engine off, then engine can not start. Normal?
3 shift through all the gear ranges. Linkage and movement are good. The idle speed becomes 0.4 rpm higher when shift between P and D. Normal?
4 trans fluid level: about 5 inches above the cross-hatched area with engine off, and about 4 inches above the cross-hatched area with engine idling. Normal?
Any suggestion would be helpful and appreciated.

# 4 not normal. Could be anything Tbird said including a stuck relief valve,sump fell out of
the valve body,blown valve body. Transmission has to come out. Have the shop put the
gauges on it and see what you have for pressure. Put a scanner on it. My money is on a
bad pump or anything associated to it.
