Exclamation Tech Tip for P0401

I am a new owner of a 97 SHO with 90,000 miles. I had the check engine light come on and went to my local parts store and used their code reader and it came up with P0401 Exhaust Gas Ricirculation Flow Insufficient Detected.
My question is two parts:
1st: The cars drives fine then it flip and I can not keep it running. (Meaning unless I have a little over 2k rpms going it dies) Why would it come and go, does it have to do city/hwy driving.
2nd: I did read the other thread on P0401. But I do not know where these items are located at under the trunk right. I am kidding, as a kid I worked on plenty of cars, engine overhauls (not major ones), little carberator work, replacing heads and plenty of head gaskets. But those were on engines that anyone could fix. With todays engines, unless you have all the special tools then your stuck with taking it to someone charging 40+ dollars per hour. If possible I would like to replace the parts myself.
I have yet to find a manual for my 97 SHO so I am asking if anyone could help me locate the EVR and DPEE as stated in the other thread.
Thank you much for any help.

$10 says it's the Differential Pressure Feedback EGR (DPFE)sensor on the back of the surge tank.

Sub to the www.v8sho.com email list for any real help with the GEN 3 SHO. Are your cams welded?
