I am swapping out a transmission in a 92 taurus with one out of a 93 and was told it would work ofcourse that was from the guy selling it. But there are different wiring connections some on the 92 arent on the 93 and the ones that are there have different number of wires in them. Any suggestions on where to find out what does what.

Those transmissions are NOT interchangable. !991 one year only. 1992 one year only.
1993 - 94 - 95 the same. Rebuild your 92. You can make the 93 work but you have to
change the wiring harness, engine computer, and valve bodies and it might work, maybe.
