I have 98 Taurus 3.0L. Do these cars have a plug for draining the torque converter fluid? I'd like to change it when doing the transmission fluid change.
Should I go with Ford tranny fluid or will any tranny fluid do the job? Is there synthetic replacement?
From what I read on the web I will go with Mercron V fluid. But I still need to know if the torque converter has a drain plug in the 98 Taurus. Does anyone know?
I do not believe there is a torque converter drain plug. At least, I have not been able to find one the last few times I changed my tranny fluid.
Can anyone correct me on this? I'd also like to know if any cars still exist with a drain plug you can get to.
I am not aware of any of the "newer" cars having drain plugs for the converters. I know the older style cars had them. If you need any extra help getting the fluid out of the converter here is something for you to read......
