I have a 98 Taurus with the duratec 24v motor and AX4N transmission. The transmission needs to be replaced. My car is a Floor shift, will an AX4N column shift transmission work for my application. If not could i swap stuff from my old transmission to the new one to make it work? Also i know other ford vehicles use the AX4N such as the windstar, could i use a transmission out of one of these other models for my taurus? Would the Torque converter stall be different than mine? Thanks

yes, the actual transmissions are exactly the same.

Windstar ratios may be different, you may want to check up on that, but it should fit fine.
