hi, My 04 taurus normally has a idle speed aroung 850rpm which is normal for me. but it goes up and back between 830-870rpm sometimes. is it normal? someone told me it may be caused by the spark plugs or the wires, possible?? any advices are highly appreciated. thx
The base idle is controlled by the IAC but the PCM will use timing to alter the actual speed because it is quicker. You may have a dirty MAF and if the plugs have more than 50k I would consider changing them.
