What do you call this part?

Hi to all. When it rains it pours. It seems I am unfortunately always posting.

I have a 2000 Ford Taurus 3.0L V6 OHV with 180, 000 miles. I got to work this morning and the car wouldn't go into any gear leaving the parking lot.

Just about to have it towed with AAA when the tow truck driver who used to be a mechanic said the shifter was broken. It disengaged from the rod.

He repaired it for me with a couple of cable ties. I tipped him well and thanked him profusely. I went on RockAuto but I couldn't find the part so I need the name of it exactly. Thanks for the help again.
Cordially,
Schleprock
