Hi, I just bought a 99 Taurus wagon with power "everything" (if is matters).
On the dash, in front of the instrument cluster, on the left side, there is a small red button. It looks like it might light up, (but it hasn't), and it is spring loaded.
Does anyone know what this is for?

it may be an aftermarket alarm system, don't know for sure.

Do you have a Owners Manual for this car? Doing some research in a Haynes Repair Manual I can't find anything on this....I have a 2000 Taurus Wagon SE, and I see nothing reference to this.

It might be the fuel reset switch which is in the boot/trunk on the sedans.

I bet its part of an aftermarket alarm system such as the flashing 'armed' LED light.

i have a red button on my 2001 it is for the alarm. it should be blinking when car is off. do you have a remote door lock for the car?
