Just check the label on the side of the door and look up
my user's manual. It tells that the transmission if 4F50N.
('X' under 'TR' in the label)

I read a lot in this forum and know that most Taurus and Sable
were equipped with either AX4S or AX4N depending on the year.

What is 4F50N? Is it the similar to AX4N? better or worse?
In the user's manual, there are a bunch of well known trany
types listed, such as 'L'-AX4S, 'Y'-4D4E, etc.

I found it. 4F50N is the new name of AX4N.

By the way, how can I delete this post from the forum?
