On a 1997 Taurus (Disc brakes) can anybody advise me how to replaced the front wheel bearing, I read in a manual that you have to replace the hub, is this correct?
I beleive that is a pressed in bearing, all it it is a matter of weather or not you would like to press out the existing hub and install it into the new bearing, or buy your new bearing with a new hub allready installed.
On 1996 and newer Taurus/Sable the front wheel bearings are not pressed into the spindle-they are bolted in. It is a hub and bearing assembly. The hub is not seperate like the pressed in type wheel bearing used on 1986-1995 Taurus/Sable.
