mad Won't start

I have a 2000 ford taurus ses. I started my car this morning and it started right up and then when I got to the store and do what I had to do. I went to come back and it wouldn't start. When I turn the key to start it. I'm only hearing one click and that's it. Can somebody help me and tell me what you all think it is. Some people said it might be my starter but I am not sure. I would really appreciate it.

Try tapping the starter with a hammer while someone holds the key in the start position. If it cranks then you have a bad starter.

Re: Won't start

Check the battery cables first, then have the battery tested, I have had batteries die just that fast before.

This only applies if everything goes dead when you turn the key to start. If all of the warning lights stay on, then the battery cables or battery are not in question.
