on my 88 xf ghia the computer has a sticker saying its a 3.0l taurus is this any thing to concerned about

not if the car is running fine and it is a EECx unit
all EEC3 are the same EEC 4'are the same ECC 5 are the same
just depens on what program is on it ,a preson could of just got a EEC 4 out of a taurs and put the XF program on it :)

Ummm, I think you'll find that not EECs are created equal.

ie All EEC-IVs are not the same - just check the Ford part numbers and pinouts

However if your car is going good - why worry?

the computer case on my Xf Ghia said it was for a Taurus too! But when I cracked it open on the edge of the printed circuit it said "4.1 EFI Ford Australia"
