I have noticed the fuel cap light and check engine light coming on. Had the codes read and they refer to fuel system. Filled tank up and noticed gas leaking from filler hose where it goes into the tank.

Anybody repaired this problem? What is involved? Could I possibly use some sort of flexible sealant around the opening where the filler hose goes into the tank?

I've never been able to seal a tank fitting with anything. I've tried JB-Weld, Epoxy & Liquid Steel but the gasoline always seems to dissolve or melt it away.

You really only have 2 choices, have it welded, that is if you can find someone who will do it. The tank will have to come out, flushed out and filled with water to prevent vapor explosion.

Buy a different tank. A new one will run you under 170 bucks at Auto Parts Fast at RockAuto. Buy a used one at your local junkyard.

My buddies car was leaking around the filler tube. There is a serviceable rubber grommet where the neck meets the tank. I got one from the dealer, all is well now.
