Wow!
I remember reading about the early Cobras (the first Cobra was cobbled together in Dean Moon's shop, only a few miles from where I lived ) and then the GT 350's in H.S. One summer day a buddy and I rode the bus from Pasadena to LAX to see where they were made. The guys working in the hanger gave us (a couple of kids) a first class tour. Great people!

I have coveted Shelby's since and can't wait to visit the Shelby museum in 'Vegas in our '08 white and blue stripe GT500. I will take photos and attach them if I can figure out how.

Very cool! What a great bus trip you and your buddy took as young auto enthusiasts. When I was a little kid, I wrote Mr. Shelby a letter asking him for information on the Cobra and on the Shelby Mustangs. By that time, just the Shelby's were in existence. Still, I received a nice letter signed by Shelby, and several brochures. Ever since, I too am a lifelong fan.

Re: 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350R

I never had the pleasure of meeting Carroll Shelby, but people I know have, and said that he was truly a down to earth, wonderful person. How many other car company presidents would have taken the time to write? I hope that you still have the letter.
