Hello,
Here is a wierd one for all you motor heads. I purchased my 95 stang vert gt w/ 5.0 2 yrs ago. I drove it home, ran fine. The next day i did some normal cruising and it stalled out on me. Kind of sounded like its out of gas (it was a hot day). So i let it sit for about 10 min, started it back up and got to drive a little ways, then it did it again when i hit 65 mph. Finely got it home, did some research and it sounded like the ignition module was the problem-apparently they heat up and stall out. So i was able to get that replaced. Drove it for around 1000 miles or so (one year minus the snow times here in iowa) and yesterday it did it again. I was driving on the interstate, hitting around 70 mph or so and started to lose power. Its an auto so i turned off overdrive and was able to get power back, but when it idled down to get to the off ramp, it stalled out on me. I let it sit for about 3 mins, then was able to drive about a 1/4 mile to gas station and stalled again. I let it sit for 5 mins and drove it home and let it sit overnight. Today i drove it and it acts like nothing is wrong!! Almost same temp (around 80-85 w/ humidity), same driving only not as far and its basically back to the way it was. I was wondering if vapor lock or fuel pump might be going out, but have no idea. The mechanics around here say they would have to be in there in it does it, but of course its a hit and miss kind of thing. I was putting in 89 octane usually and it did have 1/4 tank left. Any ideas??? Im not sure what the hell is going on w/ it. THanks for any help. T. J.
p.s. I did some research on this and this is what was replaced: Ford TFI Module- see this website, decribes it exactly-but replaced and still does it though!
