A friend of mine has a 1995 Mustang with a v6 and automatic transmission. Well, the trans needs to be replaced. He bought a used transmission from a local salvage yard. He wants me to help him install it. No problem. I assume it would take two guys up to 3 hours (at the most) to get it installed (in his driveway).
I don't mind lending him a hand.......BUT......he got the used transmission out of a V8 car.
His car is a 3.8 v6. I assume the v8 transmission will bolt up to it easily enough, but am wondering about the torque converter (fluid pressure) specs as well as the valve body pressures/shift points. Gear ratios are gonna be different. Both transmissions are (as far as I know NOT computer controlled. His car as well as the doner car are both pre OBD2
I just don't want to waste the time if it isn't going to function properly. :beerbottl
