1997 gt chugs at constant speed - Ford Forums

1997 ford mustang gt 281 4.6, feels like it shuts off completely at steady pressure on the gas pedal between 40 and 50 mph. only happens for a split second, but the whole car rocks. acceleration or deceleration no problems, shifting or otherwise. got p0340 code for cam shaft sensor, replaced it and it doesn't help. Used to happen only once in a while and once at a time, but is becoming more frequent and happens more then once at a time now. any help?

Any new codes?

Some possibilities are TPS, IAC, MAF that come to mind. With any luck others will reply with some more 'hard' ideas.

When's the last time you did plugs & wires on the car.Could be a bad plug wire too.

My 92 LX did it a while back getting on the highway.It ended up being a plug wire.
