confused 1998 Ford Mustang - check engine, P1445

I have a standard, 1998 Ford Mustang convertables v6 3.8 that I'm having a lot of trouble with. It runs really well, but I can't get it to pass smog because of a P1445 error code that I keep getting. I have tried doing the following:

*replacing the Purge Flow Sensor
*replacing the onboard computer
*checking evaps, changing air tubes
*taking it to a mechanic (he can't figure it out either)
*trying out a vacuum check valve

I have spent a lot of money and a lot of time trying to get this car to run properly. Can anybody give me some help and/or tips?

Pics of the motor:

Sorry for any typos- I'm on my phone at the moment.

Thanks!

Is the connector to it blue? Sometimes a brown connector is on it and it goes to something else.

Yeah, the power connector to the purge flow sensor is blue. Just in case, I switched it with the brown one. I also unplugged the sensor, and I also took the sensor out of the car all together.

All scenarios end up with the same code, P1445. That tells me that the car doesn't "see" the sensor for some reason.
