1999 mustang key problems

hi i have a 99 mustang i been having problems with . i put key in switch and try to crank it theft light flashes fast. ok tilt steering coloum down take key out and put it in switch again theft light goes off and it will crank and run . any help will be greatfull thanks hillbilly

Sounds like the wiring for the transceiver on the column are partially broken. Re-positioning the column re-establishes the electrical connection. Check with your Ford dealer for a replacement connector (aka pigtail).

thank you tbird100636 i called my local ford dealer and the parts guy order me a new transceiver and harness i going to put it on and see what happens lol thanks hillbilly
