2.3L turboing?

so i have an 88' 2.3: Inline 4, and a friend of mine is selling me is turbo for a 2.3L but out of a 96' Thunderbird LX. so i was wondering, what do i need for the turbo? and if you could, please name all the parts specificly.

The years are far apart. I'd check to make sure the '88 block can handle a turbo before you go bolting one on there only to kill the engine. if anything, I'd take the whole engine assembly from the 'bird and transfer everything over so you don't run into any electrical problems. The newer engine is also OBDII whereas your '88 isn't configured for it. Personally, I'd leave it alone or find something closer to your year of car so you'll have less problems with engine management.
