I had my car at a shop and while it was there, the service engine soon light came on. The diagnostic system showed it was a coil pak issue and it was replaced. Then replaced once again just in case it was bad as the computer system showed it was the coil pak once again. It has been about 3 months and the garage does not know what is wrong with the car. Seems to run just fine and then the check engine light flashes for about 20 seconds, the car loses a couple hundred RPM's, the air conditioner blows warm air, and you are unable to accelerate. Then you feel the power kick back in and the light quits flashing and everything seems to go back to "normal". Has happened in town a couple of times but mostly around 60 to 70 mph. Any suggestions out there??? Thanks in advance...Carol

Sounds like a poor connection somewhere in the circuit or PCM. I'd try another shop.

Hello CJ:
I had a similar problem (on a later model Mustang). If you cannot find any obvious connection problems, and have eliminated the coil pack, check the knock sensor.
