confused 2005 Mustang inside leak

My Mustang has a huge leak on the interior passenger side. It is leaking from the dash and pooling on the floor.

I don't know where the water is coming from because it was not raining outside when I was driving.

Please help!

Re: 2005 Mustang inside leak

I would take it into the ford dealer, if you have warranty.. or not.

Rust is a major issue, I believe it's "life-time rust" warranty.

Re: 2005 Mustang inside leak

I've had my 2006 Mustang GT since new, and after 1 year, 5 months and 17,000 miles later , it developed the same leak you described. I made an appointment with my dealer that I bought the car from, they were done in half a day, no problems, leak was successfully fixed! This repair was covered by the warranty, did not cost one cent! There also is a TSB (service bulletin) from Ford on this matter. It is TSB 07-14-6 "Water Leak-Front Floor Area". Apparently, this is a pretty common issue with the '05-'08 Mustangs

Re: 2005 Mustang inside leak

I also took my Mustang in for repair, But mine was not sealed from factory. They re-sealed it but hasn't rained hard since I had it fixed. But they can't find leak in trunk,do you know if it will be covered under warranty since I took it in before warranty ran out? I can't get Ford to promise me if it leaks again they will pay for the repairs. All they say is we will deal with it when it happens again!!!

Re: 2005 Mustang inside leak

Well, they won't pay for more leaks down the road as time goes on, esp. after the warranty period ( when does your warranty run out if it didn't already?) If it ran out recently and you still have that trunk leak, it sounds to me they didn't finish fixing the original leak issue (pre existing condition before the warranty ran out) They should honor it, if not go to another dealer, or call Ford directly to have it resolved.
