Re: 2008 "Roush stage 1" hp increase
is your mustang a roush stage 1? if so then it should already have a cold air intake and exhaust right? if not buy one or the other or both. if you already have done that buy a SCT tuner. the 2008 makes 300hp stock and around 275rwhp thats just for the base GT. a full exhaust will get you another 20-25hp and a cold air intake will get you about 10-15hp a tuner should get about another 10-15hp. all of that together you should see a gain around 20-25 wheel horse power over stock. if you have done those three mods you should try to get a underdrive pulley set from steeda. those get a gain of 5hp just from better pulleys. if somehow you should have those 4 mods try a nitrous kit but i wouldn't go any higher then a 75 shot. also if you decide to go that route take it to a tuning shop and have them pull 2* timing for a nitrous set up. hope i helped. headers will run you about $300 bucks for mid length, an off raod x-pipe will cost about $140 almost every axle back system is $300-$400 bucks. a tuner is $300 bucks. a nitrous set up is probably about $580 but then you will need tuning and that will cost another $60. if you live in an immesions testing state or whatever buy any set of mid length headers and get a catted x-pipe, those have 2 high flow cats on them and it helps the engine firing order better over the stock h-pipe. if you have stock exhaust an easy mod is just to pull of the stock axle back system.
