Am running a tuned 429 with an open breather system,as you look at motor from front the right bank has a chrome push in breather thats letting oil out and left bank has the same breather but has a pipe from it to open air which is not connected to carb ,my question is to stop the oil leaking can i just put a screw down filler cap on the right and put that breather on the left,or do both rocker covers have to have a breather,thanks from the uk.

As long as one side can breathe you'll be ok.

the original design was a tube from the air cleaner with clean air enters the valve cover on one side goes through the engine comes out the otherside valvecover through the pcv oil vapors then get drawn into the engine to get burnt
yes valve covers do need a breather system , if they dont pressure built up in your engine can force oil past piston rings & valve guides seals causing smoking/burning oil or leak past gaskets
