Hey guys I'm back, got rid of the V6 automatic, mods were nothing but a headache and futile. I just got a 1989 GT hatchback 5.0, 5 spd. I love her, it's a whole different world. I have $2,000 left over from the transaction and was just looking for some advice on the best way to go for bang for the buck performance upgrades.

Hey there miker. Sounds like a great machine and I'm glad to hear you went with the 5spd. I'm sure there are plenty here with idea's. I'm guessing exhaust ,air intake, and maybe underdrive pullys could be a start. How far do you want to go.

well i wanna eventually take this thing into the 12-11's within the next 6 months, it's a beast as it is.

With a $2000 budget - it will be tough to make it that quick.
I'd say: higher rear gears, NOS, shorty equal length headers - no cats.
Oh - probably need some new sticky tires to hook up.

Your car will be much quicker, but less streetable and it won't last long running high revs and NOS.

What you really need is Lance's 429SCJ.

I agree... The gears is one of those mods that make a HUGE difference. I would start with that and exist. The work on the intake.
