I am switching the headlights on my 83 convertible to the 87-93 headlights. Will the stock hood for the 83 still work or will I have to get a new 87-93 hood.

You'll need 1987-1993:
Hood
Front cap
Headlight assemblies
Header panel (goes behind front cap; headlights mount to it)

Check out www.mpsautosalvage.com and see what they have. It should be somewhat close to you out there on the east coast.

Thanks that sucks because I have put alot of work into the 83 hood. I bought the headlights from the mustang shop and the mounting panel from ford. I can get a good from a friend but what is the front cap? I am putting aftermarket bumpers on it spyder x9.

The front cap is the bumper cover / big urethane thing.

If your 83 hood is in good shape and has the riser, put it on eBay. They are gold.
