I have an 88 gt with the following engine mods. 306ci, cobra upper and lower intake, unequal shorty headers, accufab 70mm tb, 70mm cobra maf, 19lb injectors,GT-40p heads with 1.6rr, f-303 frpp cam, frpp hp ignition coil

The problem that I am having is overall lack of power. From 2000-3000rpm the engine sputters,backfires and struggles through this part of the rpm range. It doesnt happen all the time but, it will act up at any mph. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Verify you have the correct firing order. May sound silly, but double check that first. I had the exact thing happen to me. Beyond that, it sounds like a timing issue. Do you have a vacuum advance or is it electronic? If it is vacuum, then the diaphragm may be busted.
