89 front end on 84?

Does anyone know if you can bolt on a 89 Mustang front end on an 84? Anybody?

Lightbulb

you might be able to, but the lights are way different. the 84 will use sealed beams like your probe, but the 89 won't. the mounting points may be different as well. not entirely sure because i haven't tried this, but make sure you have all the lights that go to the 89 bumper.

yes it will you have to use the headlight mounting panel from the 89 and some of the wire harness for the lights. I'm just about to do this the other way 84 to 87, the 84 chassis is worn out and rusty, the 87 is a 4cyl car in nice shape, the 84 is a gt 5.0 carbed 5spd

thanks, good to be here well the 84GT is well used and a bit rusty but all the good stuff is in nice shape it has, an auburn locker with 373s, a T5 with a B&M short shifter , full lenth headders H pipe and flomasters, the engine is an 87GT with the 84 intake and carb, 16inch american racing 5 stars. All this will be going into the 87 which was a 4cyl at car that doesen't appear to have been abused and has no rust or dents, along with the goodies we'll use the whole gt front and rear suspention hood nose and tail lights making the 87 an 84gt this is going to be my sons first car and we are building it together

My brother and I are going to build this 84 for him. I'm looking forward to working on a car that actually has ROOM under the hood, much unlike my PGT. Thanks for the info....now to find a 89 front end...:D
