Hi I am having problems with my 89 mustang conv.w/5.0 HO.Recently I had a wiring harness from the same yr. model installed in this car because of a previous electrical fire.The car was running just fine before .Now the only way to start the car is by holding the key in the start position.As soon as the key is released to run position it will kill the engine.These items have been replaced Ign. switch ,TFI mod. cap, rotor, EEC relay and a new computer.All of these parts seem to be working properly as well as the old parts with exception to the computer it had some bubbles on the board.Oldcomp.# E9ZF-12A650-A2A A9L the new comp # E9ZF-12A650-BA A9M. and has no bubbles on its board.Any suggestions greatly appreciated

hey rrite, when you start you car and your key is forward you ignition control module is powering up and when the car starts you let go of the key and the car shuts right off you are missing power to your ignition control module or you hooked up the starter relay wrong its one or the other

Thats right! found it the other day. hooked up the - wire from ICM to battery - cable car runs as good as before.thanks for all the help rrite
