Miles

Do you think it would be safe to buy a car with 75,000 miles on it if the engine only had around 25,000 on it??? And most of the stuff has been upgraded so I don't really see a big problem... He said it rides nice and smooth.

Well, here is the important thing. He say's. If it rides smooth, then he wouldn't mind meeting you with a mechanic just to have the mechanic take a look. Even if you have to pay him, a little money for his time. Still to have only blow $25 bucks or so and to learned of problems before you buy than to find out after you have bought the car. Still this will not be a guarantee. Does he do the same type of driving that you will do? For example, does he sit in traffic alot going back and forth to work? If he does and you won't, and possibly long freeway driving. That can make things that are not problems to him, become problems with you. Different parts wear out at different times. All and all it sounds like a tight car to me and if a mechanic thought it was fine and you like it, go for it. Ask him how old the struts and springs are, because I wonder how much racing he has done on them.

Thnx

Thanks for the info Bobnoxious.

I will e-mail him and ask him about it.

That's one bad thing about buying a car that is far away... You can't test drive it or see what it is like. But, even if it does have problems. The car only costs $12,000 and I can spend $18,000. I could do a little repair.

Maybe you can call around his area and find a local mechanic. Ask him if he would mind taking it there for an inspection and pay for it over the phone. Then, ask them to send you the inspection report or just tell you over the phone. If that means you also have 6K to spend after you buy the car. You are a lucky man! Ausuming its a stick, I would get a new flywheel and clutch! Good luck..

Mechanic

His dad is a mechanic... His dad fixed the few problems he has had. He also said he hasn't done any real racing.

Can anyone recommend a body kit for the 94-98 stangs that isn't to plain, but not to outragious and ricey?? I have been looking at the saleen and steeda, but I don't really like them.

You might want to ask him if he has any pictures of the mods going on or stages. I know I take lots of pictures when I do things to my car.

I really like the Razzi kit, seems to have very clean lines. I don't think it will look plain with the hood that is already on the car..

Razzi

Thanks for telling me about the Razzi kit. I haven't seen it before and I think it might look good in black. I will check it out sometime. But, right now the guy is having second thoughts about selling the car!! The only reason he is selling it is to get parts for his Z28

Man... I am going to be pretty pissed off if he decides not to sell it. You should see his custom sub boxes and interior. It is just what I am looking for.
