mad 96 Mustang Convertible --Fragile Seats?

Let me say, I know absolutely NOTHING about Mustangs or any other cars. I just want an answer to settle an argument.

My cousin bought this '96 Convertible. She came by to take me to run some errands, but then won't let me go with her because:

"You can't ride in my car, because the seats could never be replaced if something broke them."

Now I tried to tell her that I'm not THAT fat (250), and I had ridden in my friends car (exactly like hers) dozens of times with no bad results.

I she being paranoid AND rude or just rude?

Does she know something about the strength of the seat brackets or the seats that I don't?

Mustang seatbacks are notorious for breaking. I am about 280LBS and have broken 3 seats working at the Ford Dealer.

couldnt be replaced? there are probably a million used seats floating around junk yards/ebay etc. .and metal can be rewelded, they are a full metal base and back assy. we are talking worst case scenario though.. $10 (monopoly money) says you dont break one unintentionally in your lifetime..
But alas it is her car and her money..i would of made a different excuse up other than telling you that your too fat..
