96 mustang mirror replacement?

the passenger side mirror on my 1996 mustang is cracked. I ordered the replacement part already but I'm wondering if it is possible to remove just the glass mirror without replacing the entire mirror housing/assembly.

I'd like to avoid having to remove the door panel and wires ideally. Is the mirror part detachable from the mirror housing?

if i do have to replace the entire mirror housing, do I remove the door panel to access the wire connector?

thanks.
