98 GT Intake...Suggestions? - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

The Intake on my wifes 98GT is leaking antifreeze...30 seconds on the internet finds that this seems to be a pretty common problem with a hairline crack in the plastic. Any suggestions on replacements? I see they offer the PI intake but that involves new heads, and i dont want to get into all that just to stop an antifreeze leak, just looking for some words of wisdom from some folks who know more about these then I. Also, im military stationed in England, so I cant go to the parts store or a junk yard for parts. Thanks for any help you can give!

I know the frustration, I have a 1998 GT also and had to replace the intake manafold a couple of years back for the same reson. Several people have introduced replacement manafolds, but with a $400 to $500 price tag I just went with an OEM replacement from Ford. Since then I have not had any trouble maybe the guys at ford figured out the flaw in materail and fixed it ? I hope .. Good luck shipping is going to be costly no matter what you do ....
