I recently purchased a 2007 Mustang GT and I would like to change the shift knob. I googled forum after forum and they all made it sound like an easy switch. All I should have to do is twist the knob counter-clockwise and voila! Well, I have tried twisting, pulling, praying, etc. Still nothing, not a budge. Below is a link to a pic of my shift knob. It's the same shift knob that was on 2006 Saleen's. Is it possible that the owner before me used this as an aftermarket shifter? Or is there another way I have to remove this shift knob? Is there a screw or something under the leather? Please help, I really want to change it out. Thanks!
